In colombia we celebrate love and friendship'' Held on 16 and 17 September. The people usually give candies, roses, chocolates, lace. With the boyfriend will go to  dance, shopping and watching a movie.

The fairy godmother gave her a pretty dress. So, she went in a luxury car to dance. In the disco she looked at her future boyfriend, a handsome prince but he was dancing with another horrible girl. So, the princess invited the prince to dance rock. Finally,she was in loved forever and lived happy.

A la edad de once años, comenzó a formarse como vocalista en el coro góspel infantil de la iglesia "New Hope Baptist" de Newark, New Jersey, y, más tarde, acompañaría a su madre en los conciertos. Inmediatamente el proceso de realización de su primer álbum se puso en marcha. En 1984, tuvo su primer éxito comercial con «Hold Me», un dueto con (el cual fue incluido en el álbum del cantante, Love Language y, después, en su primer álbum). El sencillo, alcanzó el puesto 50 en la lista de éxitos pop de Estados Unidos y el top 5 en la lista de éxitos de R&B. Caso idéntico fue el de «Take Good Care of My Heart», balada R&B, también de 1984, dueto que apareció en el L.P. Jermaine y, en 1985, en su álbum debut. Durante ese tiempo, decidió presentarse a una prueba para el papel de Sondra Huxtable en (el cual perdió frente a Sabrina Le Beauf) y apareció como estrella invitada en programas como Gimme a Break y Silver Spoons.
